I created a Fast Food in New York City blog to host all my entries on dining in New York City. Now I only need to return to posting content on this blog in the spirit of the old days!

Kai, your blog about NY City Restaurants is really quite nostalgic. The old "Roy Rogers" and other such restaurants bring back a nostalgia that people are really waking up to. Like the old "Krispy Kreme" donut concept...people want to have some things from the past. Keep it up, and stay in touch!

Aaron Hernandez appears to be holding a gun in grainy photos released in court documents,Lions release RB Jahvid Best
(@GlobeBallou)
The Boston Globe tweeted out a couple of pictures of what appears to be former tight end , who is being held on charges of first-degree murder, holding a gun. The grainy photos were included in documents related to the case that were released in Attleboro District Court on Thursday.
doesn't specifically say if the pictures were from June 17, the night Odin Lloyd was shot and killed. However,Buffalo Bills practice report, , which reported the pictures are from Hernandez's home and screenshots from his surveillance video, said one of the pictures was taken 10-15 minutes after Lloyd was killed. Prosecutors have said that there was surveillance video of Hernandez holding a gun at his house the night of Lloyd's killing.
An affidavit that was released said there are four photos of Hernandez holding a gun in his basement minutes after Lloyd was killed, the . There are also two photos of Hernandez holding a gun in his living room before Lloyd was killed, the report said. The surveillance video at Hernandez's house cut off shortly after he returned home, which was minutes after Lloyd was shot.
On June 17, prosecutors say Hernandez and two other men, Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz, picked up Lloyd and drove him to an industrial park less than a mile from Hernandez's house. Lloyd was found dead later that day, shot five times.
Police believe Lloyd was shot by a .45 caliber Glock pistol,NFL changing Pro Bowl roster format, removing kickoffs. That weapon has not been found yet.
Hernandez was denied bail,Cops find evidence in secret Aaron Hernandez pad, and when he appealed it was denied again with the judge saying the prosecution had a circumstantial case against Hernandez.

HBO,Colin Kaepernick leads NFL jersey sales for spring, NFL Films agree to multi-year extension of Hard Knocks Written by Shane Clemons on Thursday, 18 July 2013 13:55. As the Bengals prepare to kick off training camp with Hard Knocks, the popular documu-series that follows one NFL team through training camp,Jonathan Willard pulls family, dog from burning ca, the show has come out with some good news. HBO and NFL Films have announced a multi-year agreement that will ensure the show will continue to be produced moving forward.
It s always been tough [to find teams, Ross Ketover,Green Bay Packers- Will Nick Perry complement Clay, NFL Films Senior Coordinating Producer, said.
The show has faced difficulties in the past. From 2003 to 2006, the show wasn t produced,NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Titans look to S Bernard Pollard, and in 2011, a team was not found willing to host the show following the NFL s labor lockout.
The Bengals, in agreeing to host this year s edition of Hard Knocks, join the Cowboys as the only teams to have participated in the show on two separate occasions. The Chiefs (2007), Jets (2010) and the Dolphins (2012) have also participated.
For fans, there are few looks beyond Hard Knocks that give such a genuine and authentic view of what football behind the scenes really looks like. During training camp, these teams are trying just as hard as anyone else to get ready for the season, and they don t have time to pose for the cameras as they may in other circumstances. The agreement between NFL Films and HBO means we ll continue to get an annual look inside one NFL team.
LOOK: Bernard Pollard keeps Ravens' termination notice in locker
Pro tip: NFL pink slips aren't really pink. Ryan Wilson, CBSSports.com Training camps are the time of year when players are dumped, often unceremoniously,ESPN's 'Pardon the Interruption' to air special on, as teams whittle their rosters from 90 down to 53. Robert Griffin III, Mike Shanahan under NFL microscope in 2013
If you aren't yet used to this way of the world -- if you've yet to accept 's ascent to a level of mania rivaled only by circa 2011 -- then it might be time to realize something: It's only going to grow.
And with that growth,CORTLAND, N.Y.- Winslow looking for big rebound with Jets, the type that made a teenage girl's hand tremor Thursday as she stared down at the glove Griffin had just handed her, there will be debate. Debate about how to manage him. Debate about when to play him. Debate,The Most Intense NFL Training Regimens, it turns out, that is superficially similar to that which followed Tebow.
In the wake of Griffin's rapid rehabilitation from knee surgery less than seven months ago,Ray Lewis Fails to Tackle Mount Kilimanjaro, Washington coach finds himself making decisions that will never please everyone, mostly because this subject has caused so many varying opinions. Should Griffin play in the preseason? Should the change the offense to better protect him? Is Griffin being too bold in his recovery?
While entirely subjective, these questions (from media and fans alike) hound Shanahan like an IRS audit. And so far, at least,Ten Thoughts on the NFL- Chicago Bears and beyond, it's difficult to argue with the decisions he has made.
Shanahan and his son, offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, have developed a plan to bring Griffin along slowly enough to appease those fearful of re-injury,NFL training camp roundup- Broncos lose C Koppen f, and rapidly enough to appease their stubborn quarterback, who proved in that he'd be willing to play on crutches.
The coaches will allow Griffin to take eight of the team's 10 daily repetitions in 7-on-7 drills. They'll give him 30 minutes of individual work. But they won't let him get under center during team drills for at least another week, nor do they have any intention of playing him during the preseason.
How the NFL Can Reform Player Conduct Once and For All
The Hernandez case has brought a lot of indirect heat on Ohio State coach Urban Meyer, whose tenure at the University of Florida produced a lot of talented athletes with notable off-field issues. Meyer eventually , reported by the Associated Press via ESPN, defending his track record there and refusing to accept blame for Hernandez's issues. The growing, twisted relationships between agents,Jessie Rees Foundation Brings Olympic Gold Medalis, for-profit teen sports organizations and big-time colleges has gotten a lot of attention lately and rightly so.From the that Cam Newton's college commitment was secured for a six-figure price to former USC basketball coach 's handlers cash, big-time college sports programs seem to be caving to the pressure to pay "amateur student-athletes" the professional money they arguably deserve in return for billions in TV revenue.Even if NCAA coaches aren't dispensing cash, the that paved the way for Meyer's hiring proved many college athletes expect to and do lead a mock-professional lifestyle of "impermissible benefits" and minimal classwork. If college coaches can land a talented player and keep him on the field for three years, that's all they need to do. They have no incentive to fix their problems for life or give them the tools they need to be successful in the NFL.As long as dozens of big-time coaches like Meyer are being paid millions to achieve the best possible results with the best available talent regardless of college aptitude or eligibility kids will continue to be sheltered on campuses and kept on the field all costs,Indiana CB Antonio Marshall dismissed from team, and the Bill Belichicks of the world will have to guess which of them will be able to handle money and freedom. If NFL players are going to be held to "a higher standard," the NFL has to radically change the way it acquires and grooms talent. Drafting players in their early 20s who already have agents, cars, endorsement deals,Robert Griffin III the celebrity heads back to wor, fancy suits and entourages and expecting every one to be a humble ambassador of the shield is, to quote Ahlerich,Nieces illness spurs Clemons quest to excel in NFL, "a fool's errand."There are a lot of people and organizations that have a huge amount of money tied up in the current system, but the NCAA's exploitation of disadvantaged kids for our entertainment and their profit is far more shameful than a handful of player arrests every summer.Until the NFL can keep these kids out of trouble before they make the wrong friends and get bad habits,NFL Kicking Great Morten Andersen Joins Kicking Fo, they'll continue to suffer PR hits every time a player's idle hands get cuffed.
