Long Weekend

Well I've been having a fun weekend with lots of parties. There are no classes Monday because of Labor Day, so two more nights to go! Actually I need to get a lot of school stuff done tomorrow, so I think I'm sitting out tonight.

Last night I went to a Salty Dogs soccer game and watched as they beat the Rochester Raging Rhinos 3 to 2.

Then I met Jeff from UC and his cousin because they were visiting SU for some party. We hung out a bit and walked around to a few frats but it starting raining like hell so we gave up.

I spent the rest of the night on the floor and got to bed around three.

Wonderful... Time to get some sleep...

Here We Go

Weeew! In a few hours I'll be beginning my academic life here at SU! My schedule stayed mostly the same with the exception that I now have a night class on Wednesday instead of Monday. I've already had a few great nights here, but I'm off to sleep. Good night.

Yeah, so this past morning I drove up to SU with my mom, using two cars and we got here pretty early, around ten, which was when they opened the halls. I actually conquered SU Hill using stick-shift... I was proud of that. I checked in and then went up to my suite and claimed a bed.

Luckily there were dollies and bin-type carts that helped a lot in getting my stuff up to the room. After that we went to Target and got some more stuff and then I did a few minor things like getting my ID card made.

Well that's about it. The next few days I have to go to all these events I guess. I haven't even checked my schedule. I hope none are tomorrow!

At SU

Weeew! I'm at SU! I'm sweating my ass off! But otherwise it's really nice here. I'll write more later.

Not a Good Idea

Well instead of packing or doing whatever I should to get ready for college tomorrow, I decided to look at all my old weblog entries, the ones I haven't archived into this site yet. I basically relived all the good times I've had in the past, and when reading the parts about missing Vienna and my friends there it horribly depressed me.

What a great way to start a new school year! Wow, I'm horribly depressed right now.

Anyway, Since I'm leaving real early tomorrow morning, my next post will probably be tomorrow night unless something really scary happens such as the internet not working in my dorm room!

Well, I'm off to sulk and reminisce about the wonderful times in Vienna. Those of you who know me from then know what I'm talking about. Good night. I'll leave you with the saddest song ever, which was written by Emil:

Chorus:
I just wish we could go back to where we were three years ago (twice)

Did you ever realize I'm not always going to be here
Not always going to be right here not right now
If you need me I can't come so don't call
I hate to say it this way but that's all

(Chorus, then above verse, and then chorus again)

Without Reason

I've sold about $54 worth of my last semester's text books over the weekend. One of them horribly ruined my day today, because I couldn't find it. It was my philosophy book "Reason and Responsibility." I finally found it under a stack of books and magazines in the family room after I had already gone to the post office to send out the other two.

Now that I'm all done half.coming I can concentrate on getting ready to drive up to college tomorrow. I hope I have a buff roommate that can help me carry my 90-pound, 27-inch TV. The setup of the suite is pretty nice. There are three rooms so I have no clue how we are going to configure them in terms of beds. I guess 1-2-1 or 2-Common Area-2.

I happened to read last night that parking is going to cost me around $250 a semester! What a rip-off! At UC it was free! All right, there is one option to get a cheap $32 spot out between the North Campus and the South Campus, but what's the point of that? You have to either walk over a mile or take a bus to get to your car! One of the main advantages of having a car is that you can transport big things right to your dorm building!

Then to complain some more... I guess my back is pretty damn messed up... Yeah, when I got a physical the doctor told me it had curved to the left! Probably from sitting in front of the computer all day! Gah... It hurts so bad!

SU Class Schedule Class Schedule

I decided to look at what my week will look like starting next week if I got into the classes I wanted to. For some reason I haven't received any notification about whether I did get into any of the classes I signed up for.

Anyway, it looked pretty good when I filled out the form, but now that I visualized it my Monday looks pretty horrible. I have something like nine hours and twenty minutes of classes separated by a single one-hour break from five to six.

Oh well, I doubt it will look anything remotely like it does in the image above, but we'll see.

In other news I'm still archiving old weblog entries, and I'm somewhere in December 2002.

Housing Upgrade

Watson Hall

I found out this afternoon that my housing for this semester has been upgraded from a converted study lounge to a four-person suite in Watson Hall!

Eyes Hurt Badly

I've spent the entire day archiving my entries from Xanga into this weblog. I've almost completed this year, after which I only have to deal with twenty-five more months! Weeew!

I don't even know why I'm hurrying... I guess I just want to get it done.

Well, I'm off to watch some TV and then I'm going to take a very, very, long nap.

This'll Take Awhile

I've spent a total of like four or five hours archiving all the entries of June, July, and August. Essentially this involves going to the old weblog, copying the text (often uploading images and changing links), and posting it here. Then I have to change the date and time as well.

Now I'm going to go shower and get my mom's scanner to work. Then I have to pack my college stuff. I'm not taking a lot, because I anticipate moving out of my "temporary" room pretty quickly. I'm leaving on Wednesday.

First Entry of New Weblog!

This is the first entry of my new site-hosted weblog! Weeew! Now I just have to transfer the hundreds of old entries dating back to 2000 onto this thing! Ahhh... I got time since I paid Xanga (old host) until December.

Anyway... Today I drove my dad to the Philly airport, which turned out to be useless because all the flights were canceled because of a few thunderstorms. Here's a little freaky picture I took on the Penna Turnpike:

I-476 Truck Accident

What I don't get is how the hell did the truck drive over the concrete wall and not damage it!?

Last night I went to the Quindlen Shoals concert in Owego. It was pretty damn good. They have some great original songs which you can download of their web site.

State of Emergency Day

I had a pretty boring "State of Emergency Day." In the morning I got a physical. After turning my head and coughing a bit I went home and tried to install my mom's scanner. Then I did another random chore by going to the Sears Service Center and having them figure out how to open the carpet brush of our vacuum cleaner. That's when the power started browning out. I didn't think much of it until I got to the first traffic light. I got to the parkway pretty fast because there were no lights on! Maybe they should turn them off during rush hour! The parkway, however, was a horrible mess. The Giant parking lot looked like as if hell had broken lose with shopping carts everywhere and people running from the store as if a bomb had exploded inside it.

I expected my house to be without power but everything was fine. The lights dimmed a bit once or twice and my UPSs (backup batteries) beeped a few times. All-in-all I wasn't affected at all by this "State of Emergency."

Despite all being good in the neighborhood the county decided to curfew us at nine o'clock. I felt like a kid again÷ You know÷ "Be home by nine!" That'd be about it÷

End of the Job

Once again nothing has really happened since my last update. I did end up finishing my phonebook job and made like $400.

Thursday night I went to see Bad Boys II with Sergey, it was pretty good. On the way back I nearly drove into what I guess was the biggest fight in Binghamton since like 1987. I guess some guy spit on another guy's shoe. I quickly avoided it when I saw five police cars speeding up to it.

That would be about it...

Oh, I did some site improvements. The guestbook is finally something decent and no longer hosted on Bravenet. Also I keep adding little "hacks" here and there to my AIS 2002 site.

Delivering in the Projects

Well÷ Nothing new at all÷ I'm still delivering phonebooks! I hope I get done this morning though. Then I will have delivered nearly 1900 phonebooks! After delivering for about a week on Binghamton's Southside (Felters Road "Projects," Tompkins Road, etc.) where I would come home every afternoon and watch the news only to see someone was shot at one of the houses I delivered to, I am now delivering on some country road in Conklin. A lot of the houses up there are so horribly nasty. They have rusting cars overgrown by bushes in their front yard, often the stairs to their door are just gone, and for some reason a lot of them have a building permit in their windows÷ Yeah right÷ You'd think they renovate their house for once, hence the permit. They're not going to do anything÷ it makes no sense, I don't know who they're kidding.

Anyway, I got to go eat something and then get this over with.

No Bathrooms in Binghamton

I started my phonebook job on Monday÷ I kept getting the dates confused. Anyway, I basically got 1600 books and was told to deliver them within 48 hours! By Wednesday I had completed the first half, and now I got an extension until Monday to get them delivered. I'm delivering on Binghamton's South Side÷ tons of fun!
I discovered that there are no bathrooms in Binghamton! Yeah, on Tuesday I went to a gas station, and the lady there told me to use the Subway across the street. I didn't exactly feel like going in there and just using their bathroom, so I went to a fairly large Giant across the other street. Well, they didn't have a bathroom either. So, I went to another gas station in the area, and when I asked the lady there told me "no" but the manager stepped in and told me I could use his office bathroom. So, after three sites I finally found relief!
And now, with over half the books still needing to be delivered, we have rain in the forecast for like the next six days! Wonderful!
