Toni Sender: The first German edition of the autobiography (published 1939 in the US) by the Jewish-German socialist Toni Sender, one of the four female "Reichstagsabgeordnete" in Weimar Germany, who later escaped the Nazis, and immigrated to the United States to become a high ranked official of the United Nations. Career
I joined the Department of Comparative Literature at Binghamton University in 1989, having previously taught at the University of Cologne (Germany), University of Essen (Germany), and University of Florida. For one semester I served as second Käthe-Leichter-Visiting Professor of Women and Gender Studies at the University of Vienna (1999/2000).
Research
My work has been on modern literature and thought, gender, knowledge and history, women’s literature and political culture.
