Doze Off & Feel Horrible

Great, ever have one of those random tired-spells, where you doze off for like ten minutes, and then wake up only to feel horrible? I just had that happen. Anyway, I just had some coffee, and now I guess I feel all right. Since I am such a horrible procrastinator, I haven’t packed anything at all yet for tomorrow!

More Shortbus Lyrics

Today is my last full day in Vestal! Weeeew! I’m not doing anything at all today! I did write out some more Long Beach Shortbus lyrics just for the hell of it!

California Grace

California grace

Palms that can grow up and reach the sky
I never did stop and wonder why
It seems they climb into outer space
They’re disgusted living under California grace

California grace

Dear _(Spanish?)_ don’t misunderstand your son
Come crazy little live my life on the run
I’ll write this line on your pretty face
Say I’m doing just fine on California grace

California grace

__?__ woman put your hand in mine
I’ve got my mind made up this time
You and I are getting out of this place
Don’t forget to pack up your California grace

Smog fills the sky with pink and blue
Beautifies the air while it’s killing you
Sounds like that’s the place where we all be
Let’s hitch a ride in California gracefully
Gracefully, yeah, oh

Miles of road that we haven’t seen
Ancients ruins, fields of green
Come on girl we got dreams to chase
Young and under California grace

Crazy little woman won’t you follow me
Open your mind and set me free
You and I got to work no grace
We’re young and under California grace
Say I’m doing just fine on California grace

We’re young and under California grace

Odd Walking Man

We’re talking influence and we’re painting with a traitor’s brush
We jam on turnstiles and we’re waiting for the human thrush
We lit the pom-poms on the Westside and we turned to go
Took symphony in the river, washed it down the river, no!

Odd walking odd walking man
Odd walking odd walking man
Odd walking odd walking man
Odd walking odd walking man
Who walks funny

Odd walking odd walking man
Odd walking odd walking man
Odd walking odd walking man
Odd walking odd walking man

There’s nothing like a pack of niners psychedelic flow
There’s no one like the who’s wild with a forty-four
We take it to the top of the hill
Ride until the sun comes up

Odd walking odd walking man
Odd walking odd walking man
Odd walking odd walking man
Odd walking odd walking man

Yeah

I know a king who sat up on the throne
Surrounded by junk and everything he used to own
This shit is easy, it’s hard getting my picks
It’s not the junk I throw away
It’s about the junk I fix

Odd walking odd walking man
Odd walking odd walking man
Odd walking odd walking man
Odd walking odd walking man

Still Not Done With Videos

I’m still not done with my damn videos! As soon as I’m done with this entry I’m getting back to the process. I’ll need another two hours or so.

The Good News: I’m going to finish Volume 2S (Senior Year)
The Bad News: I’m not going to finish Volume 4 (2nd College Volume)

Oh well, maybe that’s not so bad. A few more pictures of people will make Volume 4 better anyway. And I could use some input on how to make it better. I’ll finish it up in a week or two then.

Well, I’m off to the basement again…

Getting Out of the House

Great I spent most of the past day editing another video. Gah… Then I messed up a portion of it. Whatever…

I actually left the house this past day and went to Target and the Oakdale Mall mainly to… Hah, buy video equipment / media. I love shopping on Saturdays… Seriously… This "recession" seems to have bypassed our area… Except for all the layoffs of course. But seriously, the fact that I had to park out by McDonalds to go to Target says something to me. Or the fact that I got stuck in a traffic jam on the parkway, which says something about when and why people come to Vestal. There are no traffic jams on weekdays. Yeah… I guess we’re pure retail.

At the Oakdale Mall I kept randomly mentally drifting off. The fact that I almost "accidentally" shoplifted Spencer and the fact that I ordered and paid for a coffee at the Coffee Beanery, and then walked out without picking it up proved this! Suave, Kai! I noticed once I was out the "door," upon which I pretended I was just wandering around the place and suavely walked back to the coffee bar and picked up my coffee.

Marriage Will Dig You a Grave

Great! Check out this phone call I just got:

Me: Hello?
Lady: Hi, this is Pat from Vestal Memorial Park. Your phone number was selected at random to receive free burial space. There are some qualifications, however.
Me: All right…
Lady: Do you presently own burial space?
Me: No…
Lady: Are you married or over thirty?
Me: No…
Lady: I’m sorry, you do not qualify.
Me: All right…
Lady: Bye
Me: Bye

Will someone marry me please? I need that free burial space!

Pretty Cold

Very Cold

No, non-U.S. visitors, that is not 0° Celsius, that’s 0° Fahrenheit. That’s about –18°C! Yeah… Our wonderful Upstate New York winters. I didn’t even really notice it until I let my dog out into the backyard and I noticed the storm door’s window was all frozen over. That’s when I checked the thermometer. Guess I won’t be going outside anytime soon…

Shortbus Lyrics

I have got to make those damn videos! I have three days of vacation left, and I have to edit two three hour videos! Gah… I don’t know why I’m so lazy… On the other hand I’m not really lazy. Today I wrote out the lyrics to three of the songs on the Long Beach Shortbus album I mentioned yesterday. Yeah, the CD is still so rare the lyrics aren’t written out anywhere.

Here they are:

Better Than This

Well every man needs to get a little sleep
We all need sanctuary from the trouble on the street
Working hard and making money
But I rather be dreaming underneath the shady tree

And it’s six in the morning
I’ve been up all night
Can’t stop the wheels a turning
And I’m fearing delight
I’m so spun out but I think I know what we could do
I’m exploding with ideas but I can’t call you
(Oh Lord)
I hear people in the tree
I’m going on a mission, unlock my ten-speed
(Oh Lord)
I hear the place is hot and swarming with police
There’s a man on the corner with his camera on me

Well I’d do anything to get a little rest
I think a nightmare would be better than this
I think a nightmare would be better than this
There’s a house that says "haunted" up the street
The last family that moved in evacuated in a week
That voodoo lady always got to me
But I’m searching for a spirit desperate for company

And it’s six in the morning
I’ve been up all night
And I’m tossing and a turning
And I’m fearing delight
I’m so spun out but I think I know what we should do
I’m exploding with ideas and I can’t call you
(Oh Lord)
I hear people in the tree
I got to take the world on a mission with me
(Oh Lord)
I had a close brush with forty-eyed destiny
And I hope that you’re looking and you see right through me

Well I’d do anything to get a little rest
I think a nightmare would be better than this
I think a nightmare would be better than this

I think a nightmare would be better than this

Take It Slow

Jesus loves me yes I know
Caught the dragon by his toe
If I holler don’t let go
Girl you’ve got to take it slow

Roll down the window if you’re in your car
Cool down the middle, don’t go too far
Flashing lights behind us make you scared
I keep on driving like they’re not even there
The road is rocky yeah
Nothing’s fair
But that’s life baby
Slow it down, daddy’s here

Girl I know it’s been a long time
Take it slow
Take it slow
Take it slow

Yes I know it’s been a long time
I’m going to hit it slow
Hit it slow
Hit it slow

Roll down the window and spin the world too
I got further to go, from the bus to the studio
Flashing lights behind us may make you scared
But don’t worry about those shadows girl
Because there really ain’t nothing there
The road of life is rocky, nothing is fair
But that’s just life baby
Slow it down, daddy’s here

Girl I know it’s been a long time
Take it slow
Take it slow
Take it slow

Yes I know it’s been a long time
I’m going to hit it slow
Hit it slow
Hit it slow

Hit it slow
Hit it slow

Girl I know it’s been a long time
Gonna take it slow
Take it slow
Take it slow

Yes I know it’s been a long time
I’m going to hit it slow
Hit it slow
Hit it slow

Hit it slow
Hit it slow

Stray With Me

I am not asking you for your heart or your hand
And I not know what to do with your soul
But to wake up beside you in the morning
And to see you softly breathing
And the movement of your eyes dreaming
And to feel your flower softly bleeding
Is all that I am needing

Just stray with me awhile
Stray beside your man awhile
Stray with me awhile
Stray beside your man awhile

Stray beside your man awhile

I am not searching for some perfect destination
I don’t know where I’m going at all
But to unexpectedly find you in a mountain
Or to get you out of the fountain
And to know where this old roadway lead
I know you’ll truly miss me
That’s all that I am needing

So stray with me awhile
Stray beside your man awhile
Stray with me awhile
Stray beside your man awhile

So stray with me awhile
Stray beside your man awhile
Stray with me awhile
Stray beside your man awhile

It’s all that I am needing

So I guess it’s just that I am too lazy to start projects that I know will take me a long time. Or I'm probably just sick of making videos...

Pumpin' Iron & Shortbus CD

My new weight equipment was delivered this past day… Too bad I only have four days left to use it before I head back to college. Who am I kidding anyway? I’m just a scrawny little kid!

Long Beach Shortbus Shortbus L.B. CD

I also got the Long Beach Shortbus self-titled CD this past day. It was hell to get, but I eventually found it on merch.com. Was it worth the $11.99 plus shipping? Well, it only has seven tracks, of which two are nearly identical instrumental pieces. But the other songs on it are pretty good. Of course you can just download 46 live tracks from lbshortbus.com for free…

Or you can just continue listening to Backstreet Boys...

Coffee on an Empty Stomach

Great, I love drinking two huge cups of coffee in the morning on an empty stomach! I’m horribly awake now, but my head is spinning and my stomach hurts! My mom left to Penn State today, so I got the house alone for three days. Too bad there’s still nothing to do! My new weight equipment is supposed to be delivered today, but I have no clue whether it actually will be.

Lazier Than Usual Self

Tonight I’ve been lazier than my usual lazy self. Yeah, instead of working out I decided to fall asleep on a couch! I guess I’m going to fix a few web site things tonight. Maybe I’ll even create some new content. If only I had something to write about…

Another Boring Day

Weeew! I had another wonderfully boring day again! I got up at 9:30 or so, stared blankly into the computer screen until about 1:30, upon which I showered for an hour, only to return to staring at the screen for several hours. I actually did leave the house once today! Yeah, I took a short trip to Sears Hardware to get some insulation stuff to insulate a door in my basement. That was the first time I left the house in three days, with the exception of walking the dog.

Quick Fix

I killed some time today by going through my entire weblog and fixing broken images. In one of the pictures I fixed from about two years ago, I am wearing the exact same clothes as I am wearing today. That’s pretty odd. My hair looks almost exactly the same as well. Once Xanga archives my posts again, I hope to create a huge pdf file of all my entries over the past two years. Anyway, I just walked my dog… It’s cold as hell out.

Green Thumb

The only news today would be that my fingers have turned green! Yeah… a good portion of each of my fingers, from the middle to the bottom joint is green today. I have no clue why… Anyway, that would be about it.

Dirty Water

Once again I didn’t do much this past day. My mom had me rent one of those steam cleaner things and steam clean the basement carpet, which is basically this nasty eighties-look green thing which was in the living room when we moved in fifteen years ago. Anyway, the "used water tank" always filled up with the nastiest looking black water ever. I could probably go over that thing ten times and still get horribly dirty water. Anyway, now the basement is all set for some two-station weight thing we ordered. That ought to be fun.

And I still haven’t gone back to editing videos. Yep, I’m still horribly lazy!

Cost Cutters Haircut

Weeew! I finally got a haircut today at my favorite place to get one… Cost Cutters!

Check out the sequence of events:

(I walk in)
Me: "Yeah, hi, I need a haircut."
Lady 1: "Yes you do!" (I give a "heh heh" smirk) "What’s your name?"
Me: "Kai"
Lady 1: "That’s K-I?"
Me: "No, K-A-I"
Lady 1: "Gotcha."

(I have a seat and two minutes pass)

Lady 2: "Ka, Ka, Ka, Kia?"
Me: (I get up) "Kai"
Lady 2: "Oh, sorry!"
Me: "No problem..."
(I walk over to the seat she walks over to and have a seat)
Lady 2: "So, how would you like you hair cut today?"
Me: "I just want it shorter… a lot shorter."
Lady 2: "So I’ll just use a half-inch clipper and a (hardcore hairstylist technical talk)."
Me: "Uhh… sure…"

(After ten or so minutes she’s done and we walk to the register)

Lady 2: "That comes to $11.95"
Me: "Make it 14" (I hand her a 20)
(She stands there a while and types something into the register and then into a little calculator in the register… I assume she’s trying to figure out what 20 minus 14 is)

Lady 2: "So you want six or seven back"
Me: "Uhh… six"
Lady 2: (She hands me the cash) "All right, have a nice weekend!"
Me: "You too!"

Wow, that was probably the longest entry in over a month… Anyway, I’m going to head down to the basement and start making a video or two.

Didn't Do Much

Once again I didn’t do much this past day…

  • I didn’t start editing videos again
  • I didn’t get a haircut

I did work out a bit though. I’m going to go to bed a bit earlier today to try to see that will cure me and make me horribly active tomorrow. Probably not…

Horrible at CGI, Soundless Videos

Today I reassured myself of how horrible I am at web publishing… Yep… I thought I was all cool and suave and decided I was going to make my own CGI guestbook… Well, I managed getting one set up pretty well, but then couldn’t get it to work when I uploaded it. Oh well, I guess I’m stuck with that Bravenet piece of junk a little longer. I really have to get myself down to the basement and start putting my videos together. I only have a little over a week of vacation left, and have to make "Volume 4" (new college footage), and "Volume 2S" (shortened version of Volume 2, which was 7.5 hours, cutting it down to about two hours to just include my senior year of high school).

While we’re at the technical talk, I figured out a few days ago that the reason a lot of people can’t hear sound on my tapes is because I was an idiot, and bought a multi-system VCR that only records hi-fi (in the picture track). It reserves the normal soundtrack for its "karaoke mode." So if I sang over my tapes you would be able to hear sound… Although it would be my horrible singing voice.

As for the haircut… I have still yet to get it.

Still No Haircut

Once again I didn’t do much today. I made a few more web site improvements and that’s about it. I still haven’t gotten a haircut… I guess I will tomorrow… or not…

Posted by newkai at 11:46 PM | Comments (0)

Not Up to Much

I haven’t exactly been up to anything lately… Not that that’s news! I did a few minor improvements to my web sites, mainly cleaning the guestbook out by getting rid of annoying entries that just had ads in them. I’ll probably begin editing videos again today. There’s really nothing for me to do. I actually can’t wait to get back to college! Ahh, I might get a haircut today if my can drag my lazy self down to Cost Cutters. (Yeah, that’s where I get my haircuts… problem with that!?)

Philly and the Snow

I drove my dad to the Philadelphia airport this past day. I guess it was kind of good to get out of the house for once. On the way back it snowed fairly heavily, making it a little stressful, but of course nothing I couldn’t handle… Heheh… Anyway, I’m tired as hell and off to bed.

Snow, Snow, and More Snow

Henry Stuck in the Snow
My dog hits a dead end!

Great, check out the forecast for the next few days:

Today: Snow
Tomorrow: Snow
Tuesday: Cloudy
Wednesday: Snow
Thursday: Snow
Friday: Snow

Wonderful! Tomorrow I'm driving my dad to the Philadelphia Airport. That ought to kill some boredom. All I've been doing the past few weeks is stare at the computer screen.

"Catch Me If You Can"

Nothing has changed! I’m still horribly, horribly bored. I went to see “Catch Me If You Can” last night. It was all right I guess. Today it has been snowing like absolute hell again. I partly spent the day shoveling the driveway and front walk three times.

Happy Boring New Year

Happy new year! Weeeew! I did absolutely nothing. Oh well… I have three more weeks to kill before I go back to college. I’m killing time by downloading random music like mad. Hopefully my college’s installation of four additional T1 lines over the break will boost our speed there a bit… a big bit! Damn, it always crawls… That’s why I download like mad here on the cable modem.
