Vienna's calling! Great, while showering this morning (where I do some of my greatest thinking), it dawned on me that I sort of have to pack tons of stuff in the next thirty hours! I also got to do some other stuff today and tomorrow. Yeah, but anyway, I'm horribly excited about going to Vienna. (Details)
Oh yeah, and it supposed to snow Saturday, the day I depart. That'll be great! With bad luck all my flights will be cancelled! I'm not worried thought, since it is not supposed to be anything major, and Hancock and J.F.K. have some the best snow removal capabilities in the country.
Yesterday morning I woke up to the aftermath of a miniature snowstorm, something I'm going to have to get used to! It was quite fun sliding all over the paths of thin snow to get to class. The college quite efficiently removed the snow from the paths, except they didn't quite think of the trace that was left behind. They should have salted the paths as well. Anyway, I had one of my best days here yesterday as well. I got back a GOV 101 paper that I thought I had bombed. I ended up receiving a B+ on it, which isn't easy in that professor's class. I also got a B on a FIA 246 test, which also surprised me. Actually, with an extra credit option that professor gave; I might actually get an extra twenty points. I'll have to wait and see for that.
Wow, what a weekend! Friday night dragged on until seven in the morning. Last night lasted until two. I thought I had to make this weekend wild since I'm spending the next two in Vienna. That's not to say that it isn't wild there!
Then today I thought I had lost my camera. I checked everywhere but couldn't find it. It horribly ruined my Sunday. Then a friend of mine gave it back to me saying she had wanted to mess with me. Oh well, all is well now.
I haven't exactly posted in awhile, so I guess I'll sum up the last week in one post. Anyway, last weekend I went home. It's not terribly exciting in Vestal, but it's always nice to go home every once in awhile. I didn't do much there besides making copies of my "Volume 3" tape.
I also saw Jackass… The Movie. Let me tell you, you better have strong food retention muscles if you go see that movie. It is quite amusing, but there are just horribly disgusting parts in that movie.
This week was quite uneventful. Today was hell because I had another one of those art history memorization tests and I spent the entire day memorizing. But now the weekend is here! Whoooooooooooo!
Gah, I’m at home and horribly overwhelmed. I always think I’m amazingly great at video editing, but in reality I’m just a pathetic loser. Let me see if I can break down the problem so that the average person can understand:
Many of the people I’ve been sending my videos to have been complaining that they can’t hear sound on them. Well…
That’s because videotapes have two mono “soundtracks” (areas) where sound is recorded on. HI-FI VCRs are stereo VCRs that encode a stereo signal in the video signal.
When recording the master for my latest tape, and a few before that, I forgot to set the VCR up so that it records both on the stereo and the mono tracks.
So now, all the people with non-HI-FI VCR’s won’t be able to hear anything! Great! And I’ve spent hours trying to come up with a solution, but there is none!
So: Sorry all you wonderful friends of mine that want to see my college experiences! Find a HI-FI VCR (your parents probably have one), and you can listen to the sound! Otherwise, there is nothing I can really do.
These next few days are going to be pretty crazy. I have tons of assignments due. I finished my "Volume 3" tape today though. It has tons of fun footage from college on it. This weekend I'm going home and I'm going to make tons of copies of it. It took me forever to make since I can never find the time. Gah, and I have all these other special request tapes lined up to do as well. Oh well, I'll get to them someday.
Now it's snowing out! Whooo! I sort of want to go to bed, but I am way too lazy to get up, go through the entire hygienically routine, clear my bed, and lye down. Yep… That's sort of a problem.
I had a great weekend in Rochester. Friday I had to get horrible beat up by a random snowstorm on the way to the shuttle to the train station. But at least the train was on time for once. That night we went to some dance thing by the "greatest DJ of NYC." That went until two, after which we slept until twelve or so. Saturday was spent at the mall, and its night at some crazy frat house. Damn… Now I'm horribly tired.
Well, I was going to go to bed horribly early last night, since I didn't get much sleep the night before, thanks to wild partying. But of course I ended up staying up almost as late as the night before. Great, I'm horribly tired.
After my art history class I'm getting out of here and visiting Lauren and Danielle in Rochester! Whoooo! Yeah, I'm taking a train out of here around 5:45 and I'll be in Rochester around eight.
