Coffee and VH-1

I just got up. I'm having coffee and watching VH-1. Yep, tons of fun. I actually ended up sleeping last night! Great, I can't get breakfast anymore, unless I walk to IHOP. I guess I'll just have lunch for breakfast. Right now I'm enjoying my Gevalia Stockholm Roast Coffee.

Sleeping Failed

Great, I tried sleeping from like 11:30 to 1:00. It horribly failed. So I'm on the computer again. I'll probably write a sentimental email or two. That ought to make me tired.

Three Classes

I actually had three classes today! Yeah, that's the most I ever have on a day! Well, one of them was a 45-minute "First Year Seminar" class, which the college sort of wants you to take.

I got a horribly negative feeling during and after that class. I don't really know why, but I did. Oh well...

For once I'm actually alone! Yeah, first time since Sunday. It feels horribly weird. But I don't really mind too much. I'm in a really lazy web mood right now, so understand if I update less often and/or write last. I have these phases occasionally.

Good Good Vibes

Hey hey! I'm just chilling in the dorm, listening to loud Sublime and eating tons of Frisk (the mint!). Heheh, lame Viennese inside joke! But seriously, I love how I can turn Frisk (still the mint!) into food! I just ate a whole package in twenty minutes!

And good good vibes.... They keep on playing... Playing... Sublime Don't Push 40 Oz. To Freedom

I have some work meeting at four. I guess I got maintenance, but I sort of forgot! Oh well... At least I remember the room number!

Cold as Hell

It's cold as hell today! I have a class in about 45 minutes... I'm way too lazy to close the window, because my box fan is sitting in it. Every time the wind blows the fan spins by itself and makes me feel horribly cold! Not much new otherwise.

First Classes

I had my first classes today. They were fun. No seriously, they weren't bad. Tomorrow I only have one class! I'd keep writing, but there are girls in the room!

Chilling in the New Room

Great, I finally got some time! I'm sitting in my room watching / listening to my Sublime DVD. Gah, I did so much today.

But I never finished mentioning yesterday...

After hauling all my stuff to my room, my parents and I bought some more stuff at a local mall. Then my parents helped me unpack. Then I met my roommate. Then my parents left and we just hung around and went to some hall meeting. Then thanks to my roommate's connections, we drove around the towns and villages in this area. Then we basically slept.

This morning I went to a few offices and then we had a convocation ceremony. It was cute. Then my stereo arrived and I set it up. Then we had to fill out some boring survey. Then I went to another office.

That would be about it. Classes start tomorrow.

Done Unloading

My day has been great! Yeah, with the exception of unloading all my junk... But the internet is working, and I am settled. I'm going to go sleep now. More in a few hours...

Last Entry Before College

Well, this is it folks! I'm off to college. This would be my last entry before leaving.

Since I need to register my computer before I can hook it up in the dorm room, and since I don't know when that office will be open, I don't know when my next post will be. Probably tomorrow night...

Also, with the exception of AIM (through my cell phone), I will be unreachable through the messaging services. With MSN you can send me messages by "paging" me.

Well off to the shower and "the real world."

Summer is Over

Great, summer is over! At least for me... In a few hours, depending when I get up, I'll be off to college. Gah! College!

But whatever... My parents and I packed the car a few hours ago... It's full as hell! Oh well...

I installed OS X 10.2 today. It's really funky. I have actually been using it for thirteen hours now, and it hasn't crashed! That's something new for me. Plus I installed Fire, and am now on MSN (kai@newkai.com), AIM (Kai Brinker), ICQ (New Kai), Yahoo! (new_kai), and Jabber (newkai).

Last Day of Vacation

Yeah... So... It's my last day of vacation today. Gah, that's horribly scary. I love how I haven't really cared at all about going to college. I mean, I bought stuff, but it wasn't until last night that I realized I'm going to college horribly soon.

I have to do a few more things today. Finish packing (mostly just taping boxes), buy a few things (Wal-Mart), etc.

Mangerbabies

I bought this really sweet CD today. It’s called mangerbabies (capitalization purposely left out). And no, I didn’t buy it at some CD store… I got it personally delivered! By one of the artists himself! Now that’s what I call service! To you preteen readers: When is the last time Britney Spears or a Backstreet Boy sold you a CD at your door? This is real music here folks! Not commercially electronically overdubbed junk.

And the best part is… Unless you’re local, you can’t have it! MUHAHAHAHAH! No mangerbabies for you! Of course if they become really popular you’ll just be able to download it off the internet like those commercially electronically overdubbed junk songs…

Anyway, I didn’t do much today. I just got a few more things ready for college. I also finished my mom’s new web site (brinker-gabler.com). More money for me!

Yep, that would be about it…

Oh, and I hauled my 60-pound (27-kilogram) stereo package to UPS. I hurt myself a bit doing so, but I’ll survive. That way I now have way more room in the car for other stuff… Like my 90-pound (41-kilogram) TV!

State Fair

Yeah... so I was in Syracuse today. It rained like hell! But I managed to find a window of like an hour.

For dinner I had a Swedish meatball sub in the international foods building. Damn! It was so good.

Before going to the fair I went to the Carousel Center. While walking around looking at all the stuff I can't afford to buy, I noticed there were tons of good looking girls walking around. They were all over-made-up as well. I mean I didn't mind, it was just strange! Well it turns out Seventeen Magazine was having this photo shoot / modeling audition / party / fashion show at the mall. There ended up being a line through the whole mall. There were also tons of security guys... Guess that's because someone commits suicide by jumping to their death in the atrium every few weeks.

I restarted my 24-hour support line today! The new number is: +1 315 6011 TNK. TNK is 865 numerically. All right then...

Memory Lapse

Gah, I love how I just noticed I've been staring at the same web site (my own) for fifteen minutes! Great, that would mean I'm horribly internet-bored! But I don't really have anything to do because I don't really have any other applications on this computer.

I could install some, but that would be horribly pointless, because I'm getting Mac OS X 10.2 Saturday, and then I would have to download everything again, since there are special versions for it.

Tomorrow I'm probably go to Syracuse to kill my boredom. The local Wal-Mart isn't enough anymore!

I will probably go to the State Fair. I'd see a musical performance, but the only band performing tomorrow is Poison, which I haven't heard of. I guess that's because they haven't been active since like 1991 (I checked).

Oh well...

Hmmm...

I had a lot of Austrian visitors on my site this past day... that's probably because some of my "newkai.com" posters are still around my former school. Gah, I made so many... I bet they'll find some in like fifty years under the floorboards!

Gah, I love having a total period of my history missing from my mind. Like I was thinking today about how I can't remember much about what happened last fall. I can distinctly only remember three days in September... The 11th, 12th, 21st, and the 22nd. Great. Then I don't remember when I was in the U.S. during the fall. I remember during one break I arrived back in Austria on a Saturday, and went to Kärntner Straße to get picked up (always worked). I got picked up by two girls (Selma and someone else?) and went to some party at Che, at which I passed out, probably due to jet lag and beer. I remember waking up, and leaving (guess I never paid). Then I guess I got into the wrong subway and went to the wrong terminus. Then I got into a cab and then I woke up about twenty seconds before I arrived at my apartment.

Wait... It's coming back now (I guess this helps)! It was Kate's party, because she gave me my jacket back I had left there like seven months later! Whoa! That really works!

Stuck in the Past Part II

I was up much of last night thinking of where I would be if I had another year of AIS. See, their school year began today. If you don't at all get this AIS mumbling, visit my history site.

But you know, screw it! I should be thinking where I'll be in a week. Let's see... I'll be in GOV 101: Introduction to Politics and American Government.

Stuck in the Past Part I

You want to know something scary? If I were still going to AIS, I would be stepping out of the shower right now...

Out on the Deck

I’m sitting on the deck and I’m pretty lonely. My parents went to Ithaca with some friends, and now I’m just sitting here enjoying the quiet… And some punks exploding firecrackers and revving motorcycles.

My radio transmitter came today. Too bad I’m going to have to sell it again, because it cost more money than I have. Oh well… But I had some fun with it. I found out that with the supplied antenna I can broadcast about two blocks.

I might go to the New York State Fair in the next few days. I guess because I’m horribly bored. I surfed to find out who’s performing there. After making it through all these “listen to a live chat with the A-Teens!” (they’re performing there) pop up windows, I finally found a list. Turns out the bands I would go listen to are performing when I’m already at college. Oh well…

Time to move inside, it’s getting cold as hell out here.

Buying Stuff

Not much new today...
I went to K-Mart and bought a dark blue carpet. Yep.
I went to Wal-Mart and bought a TV stand. Yep.
I went to Target and bought nothing. Yep.
I went to Bed Bath and Beyond and bought "over the door" hangers. Yep.

By the way, before passing out and some early hour yesterday, I updated my contact page. As you might have seen on my front page, I am also supporting Yahoo! and ICQ again, thanks to Fire, a program for Mac OS X. I'm getting OS X 10.2 this Saturday (the day it comes out), so I can than install it. It's a Mac version of Trillian, and lets you manage AIM, MSN, Yahoo!, ICQ, and IRC at one time.

Right... So... My parents are gone tomorrow afternoon! Party at my house!

Speaking of my parents, I think they over-air-condition like mad. I am sporting a blanket, and my fingers are freezing! In the middle (or end I guess) of summer!

I got a printer to accompany the iMac.

Mr. Jones

"...She's suddenly beautiful
We all want something beautiful
I wish I was beautiful
...
'She's perfect for you, Man, there's got to be
somebody for me.'
I want to be Bob Dylan
Mr. Jones wishes he was someone just a little more funky
When everybody loves you, son, that's just about as
funky as you can be..."

6¢ Folders, 10¢ Notebooks

This morning I fell asleep at the computer, and awoke at four. Oh well... it happens...

I did most of my dorm shopping at Wal-Mart yesterday night. As I checked out at 11:05 I thought to myself "I love this country!" Gah! Try getting anything in Austria on a Sunday, let alone a Sunday night!

Then the prices...

Box Fan: $10
Iron: $6
Notebooks: 10¢
Folders: 6¢

Gah! 6 cents! Those are 1930's prices!

Cheesecake

cheesecake-low.jpg

My boredom bred creation today... I baked a cheesecake. Yep... I ate two pieces of it, and now I feel like my arteries will burst soon. Oh well... Like I always say: "If you live healthy you can eat unhealthy!" Whooo!

I went shopping for random dorm stuff today. I went to Ames, K-Mart, Target, and will go to Wal-Mart later. Ames is closing all their stores, including ours, which only opened only two years ago. It's really creepy... They have all this sad music with lyrics like "it's time to say goodbye" playing in there. Oh well.

The K-Mart Plaza in Endicott is the most decrepit looking place ever. Gah... It's just K-Mart and a liquor store. Yep... The K-Mart was supposedly renovated a few months ago, but still looks pretty crappy.

The Target designer seems to be on drugs! Seriously! Everything he designs is like bright colored! Gah! I mean, it's still funky I guess, but who would sleep in some of the bed sets he designs? Like orange, green, and blue!

After I added all that RAM to my iMac yesterday, the computer is getting horribly hot, and will probably melt soon, but oh well...
