Thanks to El Niño, Syracuse's weather has been surprisingly mild. While last year's first snowfall happened October 3, this year's first (of any mention) happened December 6, today. Winter's still not kicking into gear though, as it's warming up again tomorrow.

Supposedly El Niño causes insane winters up here later in the season. So maybe there'll be more of the below:

Yes...Perknyass is indeed beaching it!  It is a little chilly, but otherwise absolutely gorgeous here in SoCal.  I went to Malibu beach recently and just walked along the sand barefoot with a light sweater!  And my school is right next to some small mountains, and their peaks are covered with snow.  Only in Cali can you have beaches and snow covered mountains.  *sigh* I love California!
PERKYASS...I can spell...Promise!
Missing the Californian sunshine.....a lot....Cali has my favorite kind of winter!  :;):
I miss Cali a lot, or course i haven't been there since late April of 1995. And of course Clinton shut down the military base my family and i were living on (hence the reason we had to move) so there's no chance of me ever stopping by and seeing if it's changed at all...I hate Clinton
oh yeah, the weather is supposed to be in the high 60's and mid 70's for the next couple of days with lots of...rain :(
My room is located right next to the driveway of our apartment house, and happens to be on an incline. As if these rich-ass kids and their howling V8 SUVs weren't already waking me up at night by flooring them up the driveway, now I'll be hearing squealing tires all winter! Doesn't look like we'll be getting anymore snow this week though, as it'll be around 50.

Weather in Goettingen: between high 30's and low 40's, with a chance of Schneeregen at night....why am I even here? :O

Well my school is located in a desert, so the evenings can get a little chilly, but nothing that a sweater can't take care of!
I   California!

If only it wasnt so Damn Expensive!  Oh well, all the more reason to work hard in school, so I get a high paying job.  Oh yeah and work on finding a rich old man!  ;)

Miss this place at all?
Ewwwwww sorry but no.  I'm not such a fan of Rochester, even though I love Lola and my friends at UR.  I really didn't care for the place, it was too cold, and there was nothing to do!
I'm glad I transvered.  I just wish I could have taken Lola and my other friends with me!
"It's cold as a motherfucker outside. But in here, we're on fire."

Mostly there's nowhere to eat in the damn city! My friend Gerry and I drove there for a Green Day concert, and before that we wanted to eat. We drove all around downtown, and this sums it up:

"Doesn't anyone eat in this fucking city!?"
-Gerry

Yes, that is very true.  There is nowhere to eat dowtown.  When John Stewart came to speak at our university he mentioned that Rochester was a city, where you could find a sex shop on just about every corner, but you couldnt find a Damn place to eat at!

The only place we ended up seeing was the Dinosaur BBQ, and guess where that comes from... Syracuse! The owner just opened his third one in Harlem, 646 W 131st St, (Corner of 12th Ave), so Gift, I'd check it out... One of several good things to come out of Syracuse. Their sauce is available nationwide and in England and Australia.

As for Rochester, my Rochestonain apartment-mate Nick objects to our statement about lack of food in Rochester, saying it's all about Nick Tahoe's. In fact, he was so offended that he put it in his facebook profile.

If only Lauren were to post more often, maybe we could carry this discussion on! Maybe we could even go there during our next biannual ultra-mini AIS reunion in Rochester. If we track down Vaibhav and Luke Vanderberg from RIT then it'll be almost as big as Atlanta. Throw in my friend Gerry and his brother, who goes to RIT (it's a small world), then we got a real party!

Oh, and Justin Young is real close to me in Clinton, NY and Chris Boevers is in Albany. Oh damn, we're just an AIS Alumni powerhouse up here aren't we!?

Upstate Pride, Baby! :buttrock:

Who do we have in the south?...Myself, Pericas, Kira,...is Narvesson still in New Orleans?...I think that's it
uhhhhh...well, techinically, even though i go to school in new york, my family is in NOVA now...and, technically, virginia is a southern state...so...i guess, technically, you can count me in as being in the south? for at least part of the year?
that's good enough, i'll take you..err it..err aww shucks you know what i mean :;):
