Now I am writting this paper on the rise of Chinese "hegemony" or simple said the growth of Chinese power versus that of the United States.
There is much debate if it will rise to challenge the United States, for world dominace, or instead collapse as so many other oppressive governments. Will America fall behind in its importance in the world?
The debate is open... come on guys help me write my senior theis....The thing the U.S. has on other countries which otherwise have the capability to "dominate" is a "commercial army." Until Chinese fast food chains dot the U.S. landscape and we ditch Wal-Mart for a Chinese equivalent, I don't see much changing.
Then there's also the little technicality that the U.S. spends more on its military than the next eight most "powerful" countries combined! The one to collapse will be the USA...

My instinctive answer to that question is no. Even though China is doing well economically, it still has a lot of political and social problems, such as the lack of freedom and an authoritarian regime, as well as huge social inequality between the inland and the coastal cities. Also, American military strength is very hard to surpass. China might be able to achieve a Chinese hegemony within Asia, but a world dominance is not likely, in my opinion.I think Jamaica will rise as a new world power as soon as the US legalizes pot. Then Brunei will launch warheads against Nepal. Then we're all screwed! What do you all think?
