Just wanted to start a discussion how everyone (who has one) is killing the "dead period" between New Year's Day and the start of classes again. I know that applies to a lot of us, especially those of use studying in North America, where it's usually two to three weeks.

Sorry Stani, Yi-Jen, and everyone else who is already back to studying!

Anyway, I was home in Vestal, NY (about 75 miles south of Syracuse) for a week, from after getting out of work at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve (damn capitalism) until New Year's Day.

From January 2 until January 6 I worked at Target every day, including my day off, where I was asked if I'd like to come in because they needed more people, which wasn't really that true. Anyway, I worked 40 hours this past week. Working this much sort of fills up my entire day, because when I'm not working I'm sleeping or am too tired to do anything.

Now I have five days off (one already gone). I really don't know what to do with myself. I've been cleaning up my apartment and rearranging furniture. I just got done spending one hour cleaning half of the bathroom.

I went to Home Depot and probably the world's most disgusting Wal-Mart tonight to buy some new stuff for the apartment. My one big discovery: For those of you living in the US (and probably Canada as well), buy GE Reveal light bulbs. They're amazing. They actually emit daylight... No joke, real white-as-can-be white light. The difference is amazing.

Anyways, otherwise I don't know what to do with myself. I might check out some museums and I'm going to go to the Syracuse vs. Seton Hall basketball game in the Carrier Dome this upcoming night. I might also visit Lauren later next week sometime. I think my classes start the 17th or 18th.

Talk about "in your face!"

Anyway, post about what you've done since New Year's and what you're going to do for the time remaining before classes start again.

I know why this topic hasn't had any replies yet...

1) No sex / lesbianism
2) No East Coast / West Coast battle
3) No mention of alcohol

So, in order to fix my above post:

1) There was no sex last week, and I didn't watch any lesbianism.

2) ...And Syracuse is the best city in America

3) I bought a 30-rack of Coors because it was pretty cheap. That's regular Coors, because I refuse to drink light beers. Mass-produced American beers are bad enough. Taking out half their calories makes them twice as bad. Ever wonder why there are no light beers in Europe!? Maybe because they all taste like crap!

The Coors Light Twins are pretty cute though:

Here's to full-bodied beers!

Or your lives are so boring this week and you have nothing to write about...

um...working and more working before getting back to good ol' nyc. that's all.
You rock Gift :buttrock:

Gift replies to my topics!

awwwwwwwww what can i say, kai, except that you're absolutely right about my rockiness? :D
